Individual Therapy
Person-centered talk therapy (sometimes called relational therapy) means that the safety you feel in our therapeutic relationship is the most valued and foundational piece of our work together. In this framework, you can expect empathic understanding, unconditional positive regard, compassion, and for your therapist to show up as their genuine self.
Adults, Teens, and Kids
We use a variety of treatments that aim to help a person identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. We meet in person and virtually. Our goals and how we achieve them are specific to you and what you need.
Play Therapy
Child-centered play therapy uses play (the natural language of children) and the therapeutic relationship to provide a safe, consistent environment. This enables a kiddo to experience full acceptance, empathy, and understanding and to process inner experiences and feelings through play and symbols. The big picture of play therapy is to empower the child to befriend all the parts of themselves. (Center for Play Therapy)
Sand Tray Therapy
Sandtray therapy is an expressive therapy used with all ages. It uses a tray of sand in the therapy room and a wide variety of miniatures or figurines to represent a client’s internal world externally in the sand. We use the sandtray on a regular basis with many of our clients to effectively process trauma and other feelings through symbolism and movement.
EMDR
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR is a structured therapy that involves the client briefly focusing on trauma memories while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation of the body. EMDR is very well-researched and associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. (EMDRIA)
